The Puppy Award

Boys in grades IV-VIII were given a book awards challenge by the library.
They were tasked with reading books nominated for the 2024 Newbery Award which honors the best children's book of the year. Boys who read the required number of books were invited to a special lunch in the library which was no ordinary pizza party. Just as the Newbery selection committee does, the boys thoughtfully discussed the merits of their favorite books and then voted on a winner. The winning books won the St. Bernard's "Puppy Award."
